[net2-wg] policy for including net2 code in TinyOS distribution

Recently, there have been a few groups interested in contributing code
to TinyOS. They would like their code included in the distribution.
During today's meeting we discussed policies that we could use to
decide if certain protocol/code should be included. We could be
flexible and say anyone can include the code. But there is a chance
that this will result in code that net2 is not able to support or
maintain as people come and go.
We could impose some requirements such as - there has to be at least
two people in net2 who are willing to take responsibility to maintain
the code or the contributor has to be willing to support the code for
at least a year. I think the core wg uses the latter policy but we
need not follow that.
It is pretty clear that we can not allow code to be included in the
distribution without any restriction. What is a reasonable requirement
that is not too demanding but still helps maintain the quality of
code?
Thanks.
