I think it will be great to have lib/net/6lowpan in the TinyOS
distribution once the 6lowpan stack by Matus Harvan is debugged,
testbed, and is ready for use by other users. This would be the first
concrete step towards expanding the scope of our group which seems to
have stagnated after we produce a reasonably working version of
collection and dissemination. With 6lowpan, we might be able to
interoperate with other devices and implementations which will increase
the choice to the users. Availability of an open source implementation
6lowpan stack might also facilitate research.

During the last month, I have been in communication with Matus Harvan
who has a TinyOS 2.0 implementation of 6lowpan stack. The implementation
is a good subset of 6lowpan. Matus tells me that the code is debugged
and testbed and ready for use by users. He tells me that a few people
from other institutions have used the stack with great success.

Here is a link to his page that describes the 6lowpan work (his Master's
thesis) and a link to the code:

Please take a moment to look at the document and code and let the group
know your opinion on 6lowpan and if it should be a part of T2.
