[SensorNetArch] Dumb question: Anyone know a good example of
above-MAC protocols

If we take the stance where SP will provide a broadcast primitive even
on TDMA link layers, then the example that Trickle provides is that the
implementation is *very* simple and remains the same code whether it is
TDMA or CSMA. Today, Trickle would have to deal with unicasting to all
nodes under TDMA links and unicast in chronological order of the time
slots. So part of this is not strict performance, but shows the
difference in code complexity/reuse.
