I'm using FC3 for what it's worth. I suspect that whatever we do will
work w/ Redhat 9 => FC3, the question is really what we want to test
things on.

4.0 is looking more promising now that they've fixed the internal
error when attempting to build avr-gcc ;-) I'll give it a try again.
Need to check on versions for binutils, gdb (aka insight), avr-libc
too.

In general, I think it's best to get the latest (stable) versions of
tools. Reduces the pressure to update them soon... Disagreements?
