sorry, hit send too early.
i was going to add that i also volunteer for either 'platforms' or
'concurrency' -- can someone send a brief one-liner of what the
platforms tutorial should cover? my guess is that it would overview
what is needed to add a new platform, and what the core modules/files
that go into a platforms/myplatform directory are.
