That's a very good point.

I can't think of a good reason why the information needed to provide the 
DeviceMetadata interface would be hard to obtain - so, okay, I support making 
it a MUST instead of a SHOULD. Can someone else can show a situation in which 
it would be a hardship to provide this interface alongside the standard SIDs?
