TEP 101: Forwarded comments from external reviewer to Jan, Vlado, and
David. We will discuss it next week.
TEP 102: Martin will add contact information, when that's done I'll
return it to the SC.
TEP 103: David Gay will contact Jonathan about his proposed changes
to 103, barring concerns will then propose them to the external
reviewer.
TEP 106: Pending SC consideration.
TEP 107: Pending SC consideration.
TEP 108: Last call for WG comments before sending to the SC.
TEP 109: Detailed comments in telecon for primary author (Gil) to
incorporate. Specifically:
o The final sentence of the introduction
"This document assumes that sensors return uninterpreted values of
arbitrary size or datatype. Conversion of sensor values to something
with actual physical meaning is beyond the scope of this document."
is too constraining. It precludes sensor drivers that provide
interpreted values. Rather than state that values are uninterpreted,
TEP 109 should say that it takes no position on the matter: they may
be either. Furthermore, if they are uninterpreted, then sensors MAY
provide additional interfaces that would allow higher-level drivers
to interpret them properly.
o Section 4 goes into HPL details while providing very little
information; it does not talk about arbitration, etc. From the code,
it's hard to tell what's going on. But having something that includes
low-level details is very useful. Suggested change: cut section 4 and
add three appendices of sample sensors:
1) An ADC sensor
2) A bus-based sensor
3) A very simple binary sensor (e.g., reading a pin)
