Hi Phil,
Just some comments on the SPI interfaces:
Since the communication is bidirectional, perhaps "transfer" makes more sense for the command name than "write" or "send".
Also, what is the behavior or expected parameters if you are simply reading? Can the user pass NULL to the tx pointers and expect the calls to work properly?
