Ben has a final word on this, but I believe that the latest agreement was to
go with this TEP as it is at the moment and leave the HIL configuration for
a separate TEP.
While some of the common HIL UART configuration settings can be easily
translated into the corresponding HAL configs, there are few that would
require changes into already finalized TEPs (timers exporting the current
settings of a clock), or writing new TEPs like the always missing
"Platforms TEP" that would specify that SMCLK on the msp430 is always binary
1MHz (DCO/4), etc. so one can calculate the right values for the baud rate
control on the HAL.
I think we should open this timer discussion anyhow, since Jan and others
working on a standard compliant 802.15.4 MAC implementation need metric 1MHz
to build a precise 16uS slot times, etc.
