The advantage I was thinking of was documenting it with a readme.txt file that says
you got here by a Makefile include, but I see how you are going to have multiple platform dirs.
I'd just leave it the way it is, and ask for a readme.txt file about relation of
platform dirs, .platform files, a_platform.target files and TOSMAKE_PATH.

Sure.  I just couldn't sift through and find this info before just now that you said it.

I'm going to write it up in the wiki, but I also ask for a platforms-contrib.txt file to
go in the distribution of T2 in support/make.  I'll write it to everyone's satisfaction.
