I have no experience with jetos (taking a look now), but I can
wholeheartedly recommend the VMware approach if running Ubuntu natively
isn't an option. The only problem I've encountered is that Texas
Instruments' USB JTAG programmer doesn't work, so I'm stuck using a
slower parallel one with VMware for now (and I've confiscated a laptop
running Ubuntu on which the USB version does work).
