[Tinyos-help] beginner's qs : hardware test, serialforward

Did you do 'make mica2' first? Does build/mica2/main.srec exist?

About SerialForwarder, you won't see any packets if you haven't successfully
loaded a program onto the mote yet. That is, your mote has to be sending
packets to the serial port in order for you to see them with the GUI app.

Subject: [Tinyos-help] beginner's qs : hardware test, serialforward

hi ppl,

i am a beginner in this field, and trying my hand at the first few
programs..

so hav a lotsa doubts, requesting guidance from u.

when i tried the test to confirm that parallel port is working, i am getting
following error ( for both the frequencies )...this is after connecting all
the devices and supplying proper programming voltage...( blink prog works
fine with the same connections )

$ make mica2 reinstall
    installing mica2 binary
uisp -dprog=dapa --erase
pulse
Atmel AVR ATmega128 is found.
Erasing device ...
pulse
Reinitializing device
Atmel AVR ATmega128 is found.
sleep 1
uisp -dprog=dapa --upload if=build/mica2/main.srec
pulse
Atmel AVR ATmega128 is found.
Error: No such file or directory
make: *** [reinstall] Error 1

what cud be the problem?

also, in the serialforward application, the GUI only shows the first line
"listening for.......9000". rest all is missing ( initializing port etc..
and no packets r read )..

i will greatly appreciate any help regarding this,

sejal
