[Tinyos-help] Can Drip use the serial connection and work through node 0?

Hi guys,

I want to use Drip and Mintroute together in my project.

However, in README of Drip, it is said

- Drip does not use the serial connection. To inject messages into a Drip
network, you must send them through a mote running TOSBase.

I checked Drip codes, but haven't found why TOSBASE must be used.

Therefore, my problem is, can Drip use the serial connection and work
through node 0?
