[Tinyos-help] TOSSIM and TinyViz

I am experiencing a similar problem except my app stops running after about 100 seconds usually (with 3 nodes). With 4 nodes, it stops running after about 30 seconds. I'm pretty sure it isn't because of my software but then again you never know. When I load the program onto the hardware, it keeps going forever though...

Subject: [Tinyos-help] TOSSIM and TinyViz

Hello out there,

I'm using TinyOS 1.1.15 under (K)Ubuntu. Installing was a pain to some extent,
yet it's working now ... most of it at least: TinyViz is a problem!

"make pc" gives me a working TOSSIM executable main.exe, which works nicely.
The reason for me to use 1.1.15 instead of new 2.0 was the ability to use
TinyViz as a visualization tool. It's just not working! Java (Sun 1.5) is
installed and TinyViz starts, displaying everything I need. If I connect to a
TOSSIM simulation program, that one hangs shortly after start. This behaviour
has been observed with both

"tinyviz" + "build/pc/main.exe -gui 1"

and

"tinyviz -run build/pc/main.exe 1"

No difference. A node is displayed, one or two debug messages appear on the
console (in case of the first command series) and that's it. No more debug
output, nothing to observe in TinyViz (e.g. in case of demo application
Blink).

Does anybody know what the problem could be? As I mentioned above, without
TinyViz, the TOSSIM app works nicely. It simply hangs or stops whenever
connecting to TinyViz. This can be observed plainly when starting the TOSSIM
app with no -gui option: Output is generated and abruptly stops the time
TinyViz starts - the TinyViz pause/play button does not bring any life back
to the app.

Thanks in advance
Christian
