any chance the slider switch on the side was in the wrong position? I find I have to have it in the OFF position for everything to work ok.
In an effort to get consistant results, I documented the steps I took to get my Mica2 units running

Subject: [Tinyos-help] "Programmer is not responding" error
Hi all,
I searched the archive for this problem and tried all those suggestions. But still having this problem. So, please somebody help me.
I have been installing different applications on my mica2 mote without any problem for quite some time. Then all of a sudden, yesterday when I tried to install an application (which I had installed many times before) , I got "Programmer is not responding" error. I have not upgraded (or changed) tinyos, cygwin etc. I am using MIB510 board . I spent hours searching the TinyOS mail archive to see if I can get any clue. There were some suggestions like changing battery. Others suggested that this can happen if usb is used, some suggested that upgrading cygwin may cause this problem. But none applied to my case. Then all of a suddden, I tried to intstall the application again, and it was successful .
Then today also, same problem occurred. Can someone please tell me what is the cause of this problem and how I can solve it,
Thanks,
raj
