That's correct. A student here (HyungJune Lee)  has used this  
functionality to generate high-frequency (1kHz) traces of  
environmental noise. One thing you can do with the noise is then  
recreate it in simulation, which can let you create effects that few  
wireless simulators support, such as bursty losses. He has a paper on  
the technique which will be appearing in IPSN in April; you can find  
the submission version of the paper on our website as a technical  
report.

Once we've finished with the camera ready, we're going to incorporate  
the approach as a TOSSIM 2 module. What's especially nice about the  
technique is you can take a noise trace from anywhere and then use it  
to generate a simulation model. So you can, for example, simulate the  
RF in the location you're planning on deploying a network...
