[Tinyos-help] Using TOSSIM's getVariable(), is there a setVariable()

Hello,

I'm currently working on using TOSSIM to work on a graphical simulator 
front end for CotsBots.

I've read that the TOSSIM uses the function getVariable("C.V") function 
to retrieve variables from a running simulation, and was wondering if 
there was a setVariable("C.V") or a way to call functions that a mote 
would have, such as " m.someC.someF(someV) "?

This for TinyOS-2.x, would there be a difference if I used TinyOS-1.x?
