[Tinyos-help] Sending data to the serial port

Hi,

Iam a beginner in this area of sensor networks. I would like to know how to
send data to the serial port using a java application.
Further i want to send the information from the serial port to the motes
using Serial Forwarder. I would be thankful if any one can reply.
