Hi all,
I would be great if you could clarify me some concepts about RSSI that
i've read in the cc2420 datasheet.
RSSI_VALID is valid when the receiver has been enabled for at least 8
symbol periods.
RSSI_VAL in RSSI register is calculated and continuously updated for
each symbol after RSSI has become valid. This value is always averaged
over 8 symbol periods.
So, when the receiver is enabled, CC2420 radio chip every symbol checks
the power in the RF pins and writes in the RSSI_VAL field of the RSSI
register the value (Pr-RSSI_OFFSET). If it's not receiving any packet,
Pr would correspond to whatever is receiving at the moment like noise
and interferences from other devices. Otherwise, Pr would be the Pt of
the sender mote less channel losses, interferences, noise..Is that
right?
Thanks in advance for any comment,
----
Rodo
