Do you have a link to the sensor data sheet?
You probably should look at the data sheet for the MSP430.
I'm overdriving the inputs on a telosb, of course they clip but it doesn't
seem to have any significant effect.

If you need to drop the voltage to 3 volts, it should be fairly easy
if the sensor has low impedance outputs, just use a voltage divider.
