[Tinyos-help] Power consumption evaluation

Hello,
What techniques are there for measuring power consumption? Is this  
done with a simulation software?
I intend to evaluate different algorithms and also to compare the cost  
of processing data locally in the mote and transmit according to it vs  
always transmitting all captured data in order to develop the less  
power consuming solution.
