[Tinyos-help] modbus

hi,we are using wireless products.we have motes gateway base station.we are
able to get the data online from a remote location.
can we get the data from sensors and placed it in registers using x serve
and modbus.if so how it is done.we have nslu2 gateway
iris modules for radio and mda 300.please tell the procedure.we tried to
open xserve and run the command xserve -m=com port
baudrate protocol type slave adress def reg value and all..its not
coming.please describe the process.Anticipating your response,
