[Tinyos-help] ED value

Is it right to interpret RSSI value from ED value in IRIS motes using
AT86RF230 transreceiver.

What does it means thaat ED value is the average of eight RSSI value
samples? Every time when we ae sending signal ED is updated, so I am
not able to get what it actuaally means by 8 samples.

One more thing that when ED value is coming zero between two non zero
values and we are still able to receive data nicely than what to
interpret from this zero value.
