[Tinyos-help] Error in Tutorial on TinyOS webpage?

I wasn't aware the tutorials are shipped with the source code under  
app/tutorials/..., but I just tried it again with that version and the  
motes are still not doing what they should. If I run the tutorial  
without changing anything both motes' LEDs do not blink which makes  
sense if the upper byte of the node-id is displayed on the leds and  
node-ids are 1 and 2. Changing node-ids to values like 256 or 512  
should then show up on the LEDs but strangely it doesn't. In my  
rewrite of the tutorial if I set the LEDs to the value kept in the  
nodeid variable for about five minutes or so the LEDs keep quiet and  
then begin to count up very slowly.
