To keep using the current 1.x tree, you need to leave the old
tinyos-tools in place (i.e., you need to have both versions
installed). So that means doing

  rpm -ivh tinyos-tools-1.2....

rather than
  rpm -Uvh tinyos-tools...

Also, files in tinyos-tools-1.2 conflict with files in nesc-1.1. So
you need to upgrade nesC first.
